The Department of International Studies, Political Science and History in collaboration with CAPS organised a session on basic communication etiquettes for first year HEP on 26th August 2021.The session was attended by 90 students and the session was handled by Divya Sharma.
This session proved to be extremely informative for the students as it taught the basic fundamental principles one should maintain while communicating with an individual. Different modes of communication - such as letter-writing, audio, visual, listening skills - were taught to the students at large. Moreover, a clear distinction between 'Communication' and 'Effective Communication' was made comprehensible. Etiquettes while greeting or complimenting someone was also made aware to the students. These were not just restricted to formal communication but also took informal communication into account. At the end of the session, interactive activities were organised by the educator, which provided the students with real-life examples of how effective communication is useful. The session was successful in its attempt at making students understand the basic principles of effective communication.
